Volunteer for a cancer free future
If you enjoy meeting people and love the idea of helping raise funds for a vital cause contributing to a cancer free future, then you’re exactly who we’re looking for!
There are several volunteer roles required to make the Daffodil Day Appeal a success on Friday 23 August 2019. We need people to fundraise, deliver daffodils, coordinate volunteers across sites, and more.
Whether you can volunteer for three hours or all day, there’s a shift to suit you. And with hundreds of sites across the country, there’s sure to be one near you. Please register your interest today.
“Daffodil Day is a good way to volunteer some of my time
and meet new people along the way.”
A veteran Daffodil Day volunteer, Tarni takes part in memory of her
mum who died of ovarian cancer and for her dad who’s now cancer free.
Our Daffodil Day Appeal coordinators like to bring people together and ensure their donation sites look the best they can, and everyone is energised and excited about raising funds – the day just couldn’t go ahead without them!
Coordinators are the main contact for each site. You’ll meet and greet the volunteers and show them the ropes and ensure there’s always someone on site. Coordinators are also responsible for setting up the sites, banking the funds raised, and packing up once the day is over.
If you’re keen to take your volunteering to the next level, sign up as a Daffodil Day coordinator. You’ll gain valuable leadership skills, meet new people, and support a cause that affects us all.
Our wonderful site volunteers play an important role in the Daffodil Day Appeal. You’ll be supporting the site coordinators by enthusiastically asking for donations at your site, selling fresh daffodils and pins, and inspiring your local community to give hope by supporting life-saving cancer research.
Depending on the time of your shift, you may also help your coordinator to set up the donation stall, maintain it throughout the day or packing it down at the end of the day.
Register as a volunteer now and start making a difference. You can choose to sign up for an all-day shift, or for a half day shift – there is lots of flexibility so choice is !
