I'd love your support

If you have the means and inclination, please consider donating to the Daffodil Day Dip fundraiser this August. And if you don't have capacity right now, please accept a virtual hug and my heartfelt thanks for your interest. 💛

THANK YOU
Big thanks to everyone who jumped in to support the cause - what a great result with more than $600 raised for cancer research. The final collective figure is yet to come in, but it's expected to be in the millions.
Sadly, I wasn't able to do my fifth and final dip in August. I had sinus surgery (on Daffodil Day itself!) and have been out of action ever since. The surgeon told me in no uncertain terms - no swimming for six weeks. Six weeks!! One or two - yep, fine, understood. Six was unexpected. Sooooo when I dip again in a few weeks, that one will be for the survivors.
Sunday 17th Aug
Quick Dip!
Back on the coast, yesterday morning I took a dip in honour of the carers, and those who are close to someone dealing with a diagnosis and treatment.
Sunday 17th Aug
Lake Dip!
Earlier in the week I was in the Snowy Mountains and while I technically didn't dip in the Snowy River, I did take a dip in Lake Jindabyne, which is the same water. Conditions were good - sunshine, blue sky and minimal breeze.
This dip was for those in palliative care and/or making hard choices about dying with dignity.

Night Dip!
A few days ago I went for a night dip, complete with occasional rain and intermittent moonlight.
The thing about dipping in cold water is that there is a sweet spot. After about two to three minutes you reach that point. It's *after* your skin becomes juuuust numb enough, but *before* hypothermia sets in. Try it.
This dip was in honour of those who are coming to terms with a diagnosis and powering their way through treatment.
Saturday 9th Aug
First Dip!
Today was my first dip. There were two swimmers in the pool doing laps - both wearing full wetsuits. I was in my regular cossie. Yes the water was cold and invigorating...
This first dip was in honour of those we have lost to cancer. Goes without saying there are far too many people gone before their time. Wouldn't it be great to change that.

Well done Clare! An amazing organisation who assist so many people who’ve been impacted by cancer, in many ways. We’ll never forget the ways they helped us 16 years ago. 🌼
