A daring dip in dirty water
I'm in Colombo, Sri Lanka for a conference. I've been swimming in the hotel pool but the water's warm, so I headed for the nearest beach. Turns out it's polluted with plastic 'nurdles', there are a few other floaty things around, it's murky, it smells a bit, and I saw a crocodile in the river estuary a couple of days ago. This didn't stop me from dipping (up to my neck, I don't have a death wish), I hope this is good enough for 2 or 3 more sponsors!

An August start ;)
I dipped AND swam for ten minutes at Ocean Grove Beach: air temperature 4 degrees C, water temperature 11 degrees C. I pledge that this is one of many for cancer research this month.
