Lets kick cancer ‘s ass

Please donate to my challenge!

The funds I raise from my Daffodil Day Dip challenge will help power world-class cancer research to save lives. Let’s kick its ass and find a treatment that works to save lives. Let’s stop cancer taking our beautiful friends and family away from us. Each time I plunge I will be thinking of my old mates Jordy and Kate who were two of the most beautiful people I’ve ever known and taken way too soon.

If 100 people I know donate $10 each, I will reach my target and we will make a difference in getting research closer to a treatment that works and hopefully a cure.

Your support means so much to me. Please help create a cancer free future by donating to my fundraiser now! 💛

Sunday 24th Aug

Dip 5 still alive

It’s definitely getting easier, especially with that sun shining and blue skies 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Saturday 9th Aug

Dip 2 for 2 minutes

Dived into the waves again, and honestly loved being in the water once the cold shock wore off which took I reckon 10-20 seconds, counted to 90 seconds and got out even though I didn’t want to but trying to play it safe for a change :) however…I walked down the beach and just wanted to jump in again lol so dived in counted 30 seconds and as much as I was enjoying the feeling I could feel myself freezing, and got myself out, and chucked one all my warmly layers. Seems like a very fine line. The whole afternoon I had to wear a beanie as my head just couldn’t warm up but felt pretty good 👍 😊 maybe I found the sweet spot!

Wednesday 9th Jul

Plunge one nearly killed me 🤣 Plunge 2 much less dramatic

June 21 So my first plunge on winter solstice went really well until I got rushed to hospital with a body temperature of 33 degrees. Yes woopsy should have gotten out after a minute in the water not 10 minutes! Apparently women need to take care hanging out in cold water under 16 degrees, and the bat was 10-12 degrees apparently. So I’ve now learnt there are some basic safety guidelines which I now will follow.  I will have a hot cup of tea a big warm towel jacket thing, Ugg boots and will get out after 1 minute in the water. So let’s take 2! I’ve got this 💪

August 1st I headed off down to my back beach with a big hooded robe, a beanie and a hot cup of coffee ready to warm the bones after my dip. I dived into the waves and surprisingly enjoyed it. I floated in the water for a bit and then thought let’s not push it too far this time, out ya get Jodie, I promised my mother I would t stay in longer than a minute lol. No dramas this time, just refreshed ! I’m aiming to go in 3 times a week for the month of August… Yew let’s go!
