I truly hope that one day research will work wonders, so that no one has to lose their life to this devastating disease. Cancer affects not only individuals, but entire families, with the emotional, mental and long-term impact reaching far beyond what words can express. Having lost both my sister and my sister-in-law to cancer, I know only too well the heartbreak and lasting effects it leaves behind. If only more love, compassion and support could continue to surround those affected, while research brings us closer to a future where fewer families have to experience this unimaginable loss.
