Daffodil Day

Today I have marked Daffodil Day by collecting all the coins from around the house and conning the ladies in my fitness class to add some unwanted coins have run that through the coin machine ( always wanted to do that) came to $21.25 so donating that.Wore my Cap to fitness class and my tutu on a short walk with my friend who is a cancer survivor. Had a lovely chat with a chap in the park who's life had been touched by cancer in many ways...indeed he was the husband of one of my patients who I looked after for years. he cycles to fund raise for kids with cancer. Was given a bunch of daffodils...very nice    Got a few smiles so good day ....tomorrow getting nails done and going with gold in honour of Daffodil day. Next post when I have done dip number 2 next week in full yellow.

Next Dip and new progress

My fitness age is now less than my actual age 68.5 years and I am soon  to be 70.

Did my second park run as a walk here in Goulburn last Saturday freezing 3 degrees will front up next Saturday.

Still doing the Healthy Moves, aqua, actual swimming in warm water  pool...will do something on Daffodil day which is Thursday maybe do my Healthy Moves in my cap. Next week will be in Tweed heads then will have my full outfit to wear ...likely a seahag /daffodil theme. My brother's term of endearment for me photos will follow

Other dip related fitness activities and acheivements

On Saturday the 8th a new first I did the Woy Way Park Run well walked it but a first . Here is the photo of my daughter ( and fitness coach) and me after the event . She ran the event came back to encourage( annoy?) me into going faster and did overtake a group of walkers. Planning to do the Park Run regularly. Also my fitness efforts have seen my fitness age be below my actual age..My daughter did participate in the Patonga dip but left me to it after she was sure I was safe after 15 minutes and she got back to our warm cottage.I also purchased a ticket to the movies as a senior.I note that they rank fundraising so whilst I thank all those who have donated those that haven't tax deductible and all that competitive me would like to move up that ladder.

Dip 1 done

On Sunday the 9th August I took to the water at Patonga.

Bit of a spur of the moment decision didn't have my full outfit but had my swimmers and butterfly hat and I had acquired a fleecy rash top so I spent one hour in the water swimming, walking, doing something that looked like aqua and also had to chase down my hat on more than one occasion. Was actually quite fun and may well take to the water at Patonga for exercise and not just because it is hot . Will be dipping again when in Tweed Heads at the end of this month. Full outfit planned.

Monday 3rd Aug

Fitness regimen

I am aiming to have my fitness age correlate to my actual age ..so far by walking, doing healthy moves, gentle aqua at the pool and also my own hour   or so in the warm water pool. My fitness age has dropped 18 months and is now just 3 months more than my actual age...

Thinking about using the lap pool to try more swimming and at a cooler temperature than the very comfortable 34 degrees .

Progress and Photos

I am practising my aquatic skills but in warm water pool in Goulburn as I am not silly. Working on my outfit. I am now doing two dips one now at Patonga date to be confirmed soon and the second at Tweed Heads on the weekend of 29th and/or 30th August as my brother and other family will be there to see it  Photo of the point Patonga included

What I am planning to do

My initial thought was to replicate my 1 hour of walking in a warm water pool but  outside and not  in a heated pool. I have upgraded this to include swimming, haven't done that for years, well walking is a fairly new addition for me ..so I am now starting to swim, no fancy strokes dog paddle and breast stroke so far so putting  some effort  into it.  I am not silly enough to do this in Goulburn in winter so plan is on the Central Coast and as I am not  safe in open water it will be in a pool thinking at   Pearl Beach .
