In August, I’ll be plunging into cold water for the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

Please donate to my challenge!

In December 2025, I lost my dad to glioblastoma multiforme, one of the most aggressive and devastating forms of brain cancer.

From the day he was diagnosed, he was gone within just 10 days. Everything happened so suddenly that I barely had time to process what was happening.

My relationship with my dad was complicated. Our past wasn’t always easy, but he still taught me many important things throughout my life. When he passed away, I was left carrying not only the grief of losing a parent, but also the confusion that can come from a childhood marked by trauma. I questioned whether I was even allowed to grieve, and I struggled to understand the mix of sadness, love, hurt, and loss that I felt. Even now, I am still learning how to carry that pain and make sense of it.

Through this pain, I spiralled and reached one of the lowest points in my life. I have struggled more than I ever imagined, often feeling completely lost, not knowing what to do or where to turn. Some days, even getting out of bed has felt like an enormous challenge. But despite everything, I am still fighting. I’m choosing to keep putting one foot in front of the other, even when it’s hard.

This challenge is about so much more than plunging into cold water. It’s about taking a step towards healing, finding strength again, and proving to myself that I can keep moving forward. My dad was always proud of me, even during the times I struggled with addiction. He never stopped believing in me, even when I found it difficult to believe in myself. I want to honour his faith in me by continuing to fight for a healthier, stronger future.

This August, I will be taking part in the Daffodil Day Dip Challenge by plunging into cold water to raise funds in memory of my dad.

The money raised will help fund world-class cancer research, bringing hope for better treatments and, one day, a cure. It will also help provide support to individuals and families facing cancer and the heartbreak that comes with it.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be incredibly grateful. Every contribution helps make a difference, and every act of kindness reminds me that none of us have to face life’s hardest moments alone.

Thank you for supporting me, honouring my dad’s memory, and helping create a future where fewer families have to experience the pain that cancer brings.

Together, let’s help create a cancer-free future.

The funds I raise from my Daffodil Day Dip challenge will help power world-class cancer research to save lives.

Your support means so much to me. Please help create a cancer free future by donating to my fundraiser now! 💛
