Week One: A Cold, Wet Start… But Worth Every Shiver
Today was absolutely hideous.
11 degrees, sideways rain, icy wind — the kind of day that makes you want to stay curled up indoors. Instead, I threw myself into the freezing water for the first week of my Raise for a Cause challenge.
Why? Because nothing I endured today compares to what cancer patients go through.
The fear. The treatments. The losses. The unknowns.
I’ve lost my Mum, Dad, Uncles, and Aunties to this cruel disease. That grief doesn’t fade. But this month, I’m turning it into purpose, raising money to help find better treatments, earlier detection, and one day… a cure.
If dipping into the freezing ocean helps even one family avoid the heartbreak mine has endured, then every shiver is absolutely worth it.
