Taking the Plunge — My Daffodil Day Dip Challenge
Today, the 1st of August, I'm fundraising by participating in the Daffodil Day Dip for Cancer Council.
Throughout this month, I'll be cold plunging at home — 4 minutes, at 7 degrees Celsius 🥶
Why I'm Doing This
Cancer has touched my life more times than I'd like to count. Friends and family who've fought it — some who beat it, and some we lost along the way. If you've lived long enough, chances are it's touched your life too.
Todays Dip I'm dedicating to three people close to me:
Chriss Kounis (Snr) — Father in law, lost his battle to brain cancer.
Chriss Kounis (Jrn) —
Brother in law, lost his battle to bowel and liver cancer.
Robyn Kounis — sister in law, won her battle to breast cancer.
Why the Cold Plunge, Specifically
The cold plunge has already become part of how I look after my own health — supporting hormone regulation, circulation, and just showing up for myself daily. Getting to combine something that's already changed my life for the better with a cause I care about feels like an easy yes.
Every dip this month will be done in honour of particular people and I’d love anyone to reach out if they want to be included.
Big love to everyone else out there navigating a cancer diagnosis, treatment, remission, or loss.
My Goal
I'm aiming to raise $250 this month (💵starting small but I’m hoping to go way beyond). Every dollar goes toward cancer research that gives people more time, more answers, more hope.
