In August, I’ll be plunging into cold water for the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
Please donate to my challenge!
The funds I raise from my Daffodil Day Dip challenge will help power world-class cancer research to save lives.

My Updates

Sunday 31st Aug
dips 9 and 10
Dips 9 and 10 completed. Dip 9 was a sunrise dip and dip 10 a cold shower. These were for my mum who is in hospital after having a successful operation for kidney cancer.

Sunday 24th Aug
dip number 8
Today I took another cold shower rather than a dip in the ocean. Not nearly as wonderful - but to be clear! - equally invigorating. Very Brrrr...

Saturday 23rd Aug
dip number 7
Today I had a cold shower rather than a dip in the ocean. Water still murky after the recent 200 ml 2 day long deluge.

Saturday 23rd Aug
dip number 7
Ice shower today instead of the ocean.

Friday 22nd Aug

on my way out!

Sunday 17th Aug
dip number 5.
A beautiful winters morning. About 9 degrees! On my way in! Half way into the water and half way into my total dip goal for the month.

Sunday 10th Aug
Dip number 4
Joined the Daffodil Divers for a dip today.

Sunday 10th Aug
Dip number 4
My cap is looking a worse for wear after dipping in the waves and having to be retrieved after being swept away!

Wednesday 6th Aug
dip number 2
Second dip done today!A lovely sunny and wind free day, however the current was unusually and deceptively strong even though the waves weren't huge. It was ironically more difficult getting out of the water than going in despite the shock of the temperature going in!🤔

Sunday 3rd Aug
1st daffodil day dipping in august
Some blue bottles were washed onto the shore by the stormy seas. Although this dip was earlier than usual - 8am - the air felt warmer than usual. Maybe I am getting used to it!
