Fundraising goal achieved - THANK YOU!
I’m stoked to have achieved my fundraising goal and provided funds for cancer research!I was feeling reluctant right up until I started swimming this morning but as usual, once I got going I enjoyed the swim. Big bonus was seeing the big blue groper - so big and such a gorgeous blue!

Help us raise money for research
Did you know that almost 1 in 2 Aussies will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they’re 85? That’s why I’m plunging into cold water this August for the Daffodil Day Dip to raise funds for Cancer Council, and I need your help! Tackling cancer takes all of us – so if you can, please will you support my challenge and donate now? I’d be so thankful! The drone was up again today and thankfully no shark alerts so I had a good 700m swim and saw and accidentally touched a wobbegong very close in to shore!

Drone at Mollymook Beach warns of Great White shark nearby
This morning we had just got in the water and started our swim when we heard a loud buzzing and realised the drone was over head with its siren activated so we quickly left the water. The pilot showed me the footage later. It was a Great White shark nearly 2m long and less than 20 metres away from us in pretty shallow water. we always swim close to shore now so that we can get in quickly.

Spectacular dolphins after yesterday’s swim
Straight after our swim a ball of salmon and a pod of dolphins catching them put on a wonderful splashing, diving show within about 5m of the shore where we enter the water. The ocean was flat with just one wave at the front and four dolphins in a line sped through the wave a couple of times. Their bodies were completely visible and they moved so fast!

Thank you so much to the anonymous contributors!
The water is certainly cooling down. My tracker is consistently showing the water temperature as 16 degrees now. Beautiful sunny mornings and calm ocean have made for beautiful swims!

July dips total about 20 so far
I swim nearly every day including through winter. Ocean water temp at Mollymook currently about 16-17 degrees! I don’t wear a wet suit, just swimmers, booties and a fleecy rash vest. Thank you for the donations!
