Daffodil Day Dip 2025

My Activity Tracking

In August, I’ll be plunging into cold water for the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

I’m doing something a little... chilly for charity! 🥶💛

I’ve signed up for the Daffodil Day Dip, which means I’ll be plunging into cold water — all in the name of cancer research. Yes, I might scream. Yes, there may be flailing. But it’s for a very good cause!

If you'd like to support world-class cancer research and enjoy the mental image of me turning into a human popsicle, please donate to my fundraiser. Every bit helps create a cancer-free future!

Wednesday 13th Aug

Day 13 - dip 11

Gorgeous morning back in Sydney to Dip.  Met a lovely girl going for a swim and explained what was going. Gave her the push to get in considering those that go through chemo / radiation. It’s much warmer in the water in Sydney than Melbourne.  🌼🌼

Monday 11th Aug

Day 11 - Dip 10

Absolutely gorgeous day in Melbourne for dipping.    Today I thought of those who have passed and the famous lives they led.  I received a fabulous donation from a friend who’s brother passed away last week 🥹.

Sunday 10th Aug

Day 10

Dip 9.  Was at Aspendale sea soul sauna.  What a nice combination of heat and cold.   Stories told of friends passed and those on cancer journeys.

Saturday 9th Aug

Dip number 8

Beautiful day in Melbourne for dipping.   Stayed in much longer it was so nice in.  And found some beach glass treasure.  Today I thought of my friends who have passed due to cancer 🌼🌼

Thursday 7th Aug

Day 7 - Mordialloc

Refreshing in today. 7 degrees out and 10 in.  Loving my dips.

Wednesday 6th Aug

Day 6 - Mordialloc

Collld day.  11 out but feels like 6 degrees.  Tingly fingers with the cold.  Nothing compared to what those going through chemo go through.

Tuesday 5th Aug

Day 5 - Mordialloc

Breezes out and chilly in.  Another dip done. My focus today was on bowel cancer.  Get the test out and get it done.

Monday 4th Aug

Day 4 - Mordialloc

Today’s post is about breast screening.  In Australia we’re lucky to have that service.  Google breast screening Australia to find your nearest screening facility or call 132050.

Sunday 3rd Aug

Day 3 - Mordialloc

Mordialloc in Melbourne. 7 out and 10 in!! This is a great beach.   The horses are allowed here between certain hours and the doggies are allowed 24 hours heading towards Parkdale 🥰. I got over my 2nd goal yesterday with donations.   THANK YOU 🙏 🌼🌼🌼

Saturday 2nd Aug

Day 2 - Malabar dip

With my bright yellow cap I stood out and found a fellow dipper at Malabar 🥰 Did you know that 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85!  It was cold, it was raining but gorgeous in the water.  Tingly fingers and cold toes is nothing compared to what those going through cancer and chemo have to endure.  Thanks for the donations.  Tracey

Friday 1st Aug

Day 1 - dip done

Raining, 9 degrees.  People going through their cancer journeys don’t get to say “not today” cause of the weather.   Thanks for the donations 🙏🙏

Sunday 29th Jun

29 June - brrr

Tingling fingers from my cold water dip. Nothing compared to what people will go through on their cancer journey’s.  Thanks for your support 🥰

Friday 27th Jun

27 June - Mordialloc

Brrrr.  My feet froze.  Is it time to get some booties.  I’ve lived my acclimatisation training to melbourne and Mordialloc Beach.  14 degrees in. 9 degrees out.  Least I can do with so many going through their cancer journeys.  I’ve reached my donation target.  Time to up my target.   Thanks for all those who have donated  🙏

Tuesday 24th Jun

24 June

Today was 17 degrees out and 19 degrees in.  Glorious.  Many people experience cancer in varying forms.  I think of them as I experience cool mornings and what they’ve been through or are going through.  Love to all going through their cancer journeys. Xx

Tuesday 17th Jun

17 June

Gorgeous dip this morning.  Water 19 with an outside temp of 11 degrees.  Saw some whales and enjoyed a gorgeous morning at Maroubra.

Monday 16th Jun

16 June - 2 dips

I changed it up from the ocean pool to the ocean.  So beautiful in.  Plus I got to do a 2nd dip with my bestie.  Many people affected by varying types of cancer.  Thanks to everyone who’s donated.  Much appreciated. Tracey

Friday 13th Jun

13 June - brrr

Oh it was cold today.  Water was clear but the ocean pool cold.   I'm definitely going to have to get some winter swimming booties, gloves, hat - everything!  Or head north for my dips to warmer waters.  Loving my dips.   Thanks to those who have donated.

Monday 9th Jun

Brrr

A cold winters day with 14 degrees (feels like 8degrees) outside and 17 degrees in the water.   Brrr.  But, there is much needed funds for cancer research so it’s the least I can do to be cold for a couple of minutes.   I might need to get the thermal swimmers tho.

Sunday 8th Jun

Dip for Jen

My friend Jen passed away on Friday from Cancer.  Today’s dip was especially for her.  She loved the ocean and adventure.  A wonderful lady taken too soon 💔

Friday 6th Jun

Dip/dunk for friends

Winter is here.  11 degrees out but lovely in the water.  I dunked under a few times for a friend going through her cancer journey. She’s loves the sea.  My dips are for those who can’t dip / dunk.   Watch out for my daffodil day dip event to continue to raise awareness and necessary funds.   #daffodildaydip

Sunday 1st Jun

Sunday swims - 01 June

20 degrees in Mahon Pool.  It was warmer in the ocean so enjoyed the waves coming over the edge.  🥰 First day of WINTER

Friday 30th May

Morning dips

Jumping in the water post a gym session or to start the day helps me focus, resets my nervous system and sets me up for the day.  Always better when the suns shining.

Friday 30th May

Vitamin Sea

The ocean is healing in many ways.
