Every day, 400 Australians just like Lou are diagnosed with cancer. And with every diagnosis comes the heartbreaking reality for them, and their loved ones, that it could take their life.

Lou started treatment just days after her devastating diagnosis when she began the intravenous chemotherapy that would hopefully save or, at the very least, prolong her life.

But the aggressive form of breast cancer she had would not respond to treatment and after trying everything she could, Lou died. She took her last breath in her husband’s arms after seeing her children and her sister one last time.

Cancer took so much from Lou and her family. This Daffodil Day, give all you can to support cancer research and find the breakthroughs needed to save lives.

We know that research works, we know it is already helping to save lives every day. While we have come such a long way, we still have so much more to do to ensure people, like Lou, can live beyond a cancer diagnosis.
