In August, I’ll be plunging into cold water for the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
This year, I’ve committed to the Daffodil Day Dip Challenge, which means I’ll be braving the cold and diving into the water to raise funds for Cancer Council. It might be a shock to the system, but it’s nothing compared to what people face every day after a cancer diagnosis.
Cancer affects so many lives, families, friends, and communities all over the world. Many of us have someone in our lives who is currently facing the challenges of treatment, recovery, or the uncertainty that comes with this disease.
This dip is my way of doing something small but meaningful. It’s a moment to show that we see the struggle, that we care, and that we want to be part of the solution.
I’m doing this for everyone who has fought, is fighting, or has lost someone to cancer. For the patients in hospital beds. For the families waiting on test results. For the children growing up without a parent. For the survivors carrying both strength and scars.
Your support, whether it's a donation, a message of encouragement, or just sharing this page, means so much to me. Every dollar raised helps fund world-class cancer research, prevention campaigns, and vital support services, including counselling, transportation to treatment, and helplines.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. 💛
Together, we can help make sure no one has to face cancer alone and that one day, no one has to face it at all.
