Those Courageous, compassionate and endlessly devoted carers standing beside their loved ones through every step. Because, behind every cancer patient is often a carer carrying their own quiet battle.

24/8/26 Today’s penultimate dip is dedicated to my sister Louise who has fought and won her battle with breast cancer. She was “lucky” to get pneumonia during a family trip to India and the mass was found during a diagnostic CT scan. She states all the time that she stands on the shoulders of all those who went before her and trialled new medications and protocols due to cancer research. That is why your donation matters. 1 MORE TO GO!!

23/8/26 Dip 8/10 Nearly there with completing my 10 dips. Today’s dip is dedicated to my dad, Lee. He has fought and won against 3 cancers over the last 16 years. He has an amazing spirit and stoicism and has quietly battled non Hodgkin’s lymphoma (2010), metastatic melanoma (2020) and thyroid cancer (2021). He also has recovered from a heart attack, ruptured appendix and now dementia yet he still displays amazing grace. We love ya dad. You’re an inspiration to us all!

22/8/26 Today’s dip is dedicated to my Great Aunt Pat who died of ovarian cancer in 1992.

20/8/2026 Today’s dip is special. The dip is in honour of my husband Colin who passed away 11/8/09 following an 8 month battle with cholamgiocaecinoma (bile duct cancer). Also, today would have been our 21st wedding anniversary and mirroring today’s weather we enjoyed a beautiful sunny winters day. I also plunged with my wonderful team mates Rae and Wendy who have also endured the effects of cancer in their family and friendship circles. Lastly, thousands around Australia took the plunge for cancer research. Well done everyone.

Today’s dip is in honour of my mum Valerie who is a cervical cancer survivor. She was diagnosed in 1976 and underwent surgery and the linear excellerator after the cancer was found due to her very first Pap smear. She is now about to turn 89 and fighting fit but only due to research and development that worked. Tomorrow is the offical Daffodil Day Plunge. Stay tuned for the Wet N Wild group photo.

Today’s dip is dedicated to my Grandfather George (Jimmy) James who fought non Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the early 60’s. He survived until 1975 when he died of a heart attack.

Today’s dip is dedicated to my Uncle Patrick who has courageously battled neuroendocrine cancer diagnosed in 2010 and prostate cancer in 2016. Keep up the good fight.

This dip is dedicated to my father in law Ed. Who lost his battle with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma 8 years ago.

Today’s dip is in honour of those in my immediate family who have battle melanoma and/or metastatic melanoma. Here’s to you Dad for being in remission for metastatic melanoma and the fantastic immunotherapy treatment that saved your live. To my niece Emily and brother-in law Brad who have both had many melanomas removed due to vigilant drs, regular skin checks, biopsies and surgeries. I take the plunge for cancer research.
