Daffodil Day Dip 2025

In August, I’ll be plunging into cold water for the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

Please donate to my challenge!

The funds I raise from my Daffodil Day Dip challenge will help power world-class cancer research to save lives.

My cancer journey started in April 2022 with the removal of a cancerous polyp followed by five weeks of chemo/radiation, which I breezed through!

I was cancer free until the end of 2024 when another cancerous nodule was detected. This was successfully removed in March 2025 & am now undergoing preventative chemotherapy until October.

I am forever grateful to my amazing Specialist/Surgeon Dr Bills & my Oncologist Dr Bull for their ongoing care & compassion.

Your support means so much to me. Please help create a cancer free future by donating to my fundraiser now! 💛

Final Daffodil Dip

I did it & so proud of me!The water was not as clear as I was hoping & could have been a little warmer than 20c, as I had pins & needles afterwards, however no pain no gain!Have exceeded my expectations & have nearly reached my revised fundraising goal…

Actual Daffodil Day Dip Thursday 21 August

Was hoping for another dip on the actual Dip Day, however having had my Chemo IV on Monday I’m extremely sensitive to the cold at the moment, with pins & needles in fingers & feet & left arm.Unfortunately I’m unable to undertake this additional dip, however I encourage you to donate, no matter how small, to help me reach my revised goal; I’m only $232 away!A huge thank you to all those donors to date 🙏🏼My next scheduled Daf Day Dip is set down for 11.20am at Main Beach Byron Bay on Thursday 28 August 💪🏻

Tuesday 12th Aug

Daf Dip #2 ✅

It’s a glamour day in the Bay (Byron Bay)☀️😎The dolphins 🐬 are playing & the water temp is 20 degrees Celsius Wandered down onto Clarkes Beach & found a family to take a video of my second dip. Turns out they are from the UK visiting family in Sydney & wanted to escape the rain so headed north for a week - couple of days in Byron then off to the Gold Coast. Matt was my awesome videographer & donated $20 to my fundraising campaign. He informed me his wife has come through breast cancer!THANK YOU Matt & family for making my day 🙏🏼

Daf Dip #2 coming up...

My second Daf Dip is coming up tomorrow at Clarkes Beach, Byron Bay.  Now going to meet in the Clarkes Beach Car Park at 10.30am rain, hail or shine and I've just checked the water temp and it's a balmy 20 degrees - YAY!  Will definitely be having a nice hot chocolate afterwards at Beach Cafe, so come and cheer me along...

Thursday 7th Aug

1st Daf Day Dip

It was a beautiful sunny morning 19c when I plunged into the invigorating waters of the Byron Springs Guesthouse pool; I reckon between 10-15c brrrr. Certainly colder than the ocean temp at 22cAfter completely submerging myself into the almost freezing Antarctic waters, and had brain freeze for two days, I chose not to put my head under this morning, as I’m still undergoing preventative chemo & am sensitive to the cold!  I did experience pins & needles all over, however that quickly dissipated with a nice hot shower. It’s f#*king great to be alive & do my bit for cancer research! One down two to go…

Thursday 7th Aug

New Target of $2000

Hi peepsAs I’ve already reached & exceeded my initial target of $1000 thanks to those who have already donated, I’ve now increased my target goal to $2000!My first Daf Day Dip is only a couple of hours away, so stay tuned for happy snaps & a further update…BRING IT ON!!!

Wednesday 6th Aug

1st Daffodil Day Dip Thursday 7 August 2025

Hi allDue to big swells & poor water quality I’m changing location to undertake my first Daf Day Dip!I’m now dipping at 10am in the pool (which I helped design) at Byron Springs Guest House.I believe the water temp is bloody cold, however as I’ve said, if I can & survived an Antarctic Polar Plunge, I can do this!!Please join me; or watch me!My fabulous Daffodil  Day swim cap will certainly lift my spirits & brighten my morning… look out for the fab photosThank you Susie for helping me achieve my goals xx

Thursday 24th Jul

Tricky’s Daffodil Day Dip updates

As I’m currently undergoing preventative chemo, I’m sensitive to the cold, however my intention is to carry out three daf day dips over the month of August.

My planned dips as follows:-

Thursday 7 August @ 6.45am on the incoming high tide at Torakina Beach Brunswick Heads

Tuesday 12 August @ 10.20am on the incoming high tide at Clarkes Beach Byron Bay

Thursday 28 August @ 11.20am on the incoming high tide at Main Beach Byron Bay

If I did the Polar Plunge in Antarctica I can achieve 3 Daffodil Day Dips to raise all important funds for cancer research!! 💪🏻

PS I’ll be the one in my fabulous  limited edition Daffodil Day swim cap 😁
