In August, my sister Keeley and I are swapping beanies for bikinis and taking an icy plunge all in the name of cancer research.
Cancer has shaped our lives in more ways than one, and we know we’re not alone in that. It’s a condition that doesn’t play fair, doesn’t look the same in any two people, and keeps even the smartest scientists on their toes.
Now that I’m studying genetics, I’m constantly reminded of just how complicated cancer is. It’s not one neat little disease; it’s a whole universe. And while we’ve learned a lot, there’s still so much we don’t understand.
That’s why Keeley are pushing the boundaries of comfort to raise funds and awareness for scientists to push the boundaries of understand. Funding research means giving brilliant people the chance to keep asking the hard questions and maybe, eventually, changing the answers.
If you’re able to support us with a donation, we’d be so grateful. And if not, feel free to just to cheer us on and pray for our toes. Either way, you’re part of the story and we appreciate your support!
