Dip 4
Bellerive put on a show for the last August dip, the last daffodil dip. Blowing a gale with dark rainclouds and snow on the mountain (and water temperature to suit) yet with the breakthrough sunshine and rainbows bringing beauty and joy. I am reminded of the way good memories and special moments glimmer in the darkness of hard times. How fitting for a cancer council fundraiser, especially this one which was in solidarity with Hayden Dare in honour of his beloved sister Kerrie. May her memory ever be a sunbeam of warmth and light in your lives.
Sunday 3rd Aug
Blackmans Bay lunch time dip
Woke up late and with a headache (they often go together), but I got to the beach for a lunchtime dip (so 12° C air temp, and probably similar water temp - I looked it up, 9.7° C apparently) and it definitely blows the cobwebs out. Cold water on the back of the neck is 👌
I like going in where there's a bit of wave action so the choice to be IN in is out of my control a bit. Like it or not, your squeak zones are going under.
