In August, I’ll be plunging into cold water for the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.

Please donate to my challenge!

The funds I raise from my Daffodil Day Dip challenge will help power world-class cancer research to save lives.

Your support means so much to me. Please help create a cancer free future by donating to my fundraiser now! 💛

My Updates

Sunday 23rd Aug

Delwood Beach

Dip #10 ✅ Today was pretty special, marking my 10th Dip and also in honour of my Dad at his favourite swimming spot all whilst sharing the moment with my daughter as she scattered some of his ashes for his eternal dip

Saturday 22nd Aug

Paradise Pool

Dip #9 ✅ So today’s dip was the result of a donation challenge, so shout out to Shane for his generous donation and for the location for today’s plunge

Sunday 16th Aug

Nepean River with some locals

Dip #8 ✅ Quick trip today down to the Nepean River for dip #8. Grey and overcast but at least not raining. Couple of local geese came down to check out what I was doing…or maybe just waiting for me to finish so they could go for a paddle in peace

Saturday 15th Aug

Harbour waterways on a grey day

Dip #7 ✅ Had to take a trip inner city this morning for a pick-up so threw the swim bag in the car just incase. Found a little wharf at Gladesville that was perfect for dip #7. Even managed to provide a few laughs for a couple of fishermen.

Monday 10th Aug

The Narrows

Dip#6 ✅ Took a mini-hike out to one of my favourite waterscape photography locations for today’s dip. It’s a bit of scramble in but so worth it for the scenery. Just as I was thinking what a secluded spot it is, I was joined (not in the water) by a group of Outdoor Ed students from Lakes Grammar lol

Sunday 9th Aug

Aptly named Blue Pool

Dip#5 ✅ Not sure how it’s possible but today’s dip at Blue Pool in Glenbrook was infinitely colder than my dip at Wentworth Falls lake. At least the hike back up to the Carpark helped to keep me warm…now it’s time for a hot coffee.

Saturday 8th Aug

Testing my Sanity

It’s taken me all week to psych up for this one but tested the boundary of cold today for my 4th Dip at Wentworth Falls Lake….now for the hour drive home so I can take a warm shower

Monday 3rd Aug

Back to Nature

Day 3 and dip #3. Thought it was time to start braving the elements in natures waterways so took a quick trip down to Yarramundi Reserve to see how cold the Nepean river is. Answer = 🥶 ❄️

Sunday 2nd Aug

Day 2, going strong

Day 2 and motivation still there to get cold and wet…though I’m not sure the ‘no shirt’ option was the best even with the sun out.

Saturday 1st Aug

First day - first dip

Now that August has officially started it was time to take that first dip…so I quite literally jumped straight into it.

Fresh is probably a good description for the first day followed by invigorating, cathartic, brisk, chilly, bracing and WTF was I thinking

Friday 3rd Jul

Testing the water

Just checking out possible locations for August and get a feel for the reality of cold….brrrrrr
