Lynette's Story

I needed a positive attitude, as I was determined to get through this after losing my sister.”

 

In 2019 Lynette’s world was rocked as she not only supported one of her sisters through a cancer diagnosis and appointments, but when she too received a bowel cancer diagnosis herself.

 

Lynette and her six sisters were close, and the double blow was something that she felt she couldn’t put on her family, especially with her sister being so sick. So, she waited until after her sister sadly passed away in November.

 

“My family was just so overwhelmed by a second cancer diagnosis within six months and honestly we just cried and cried,” she says.

 

Fortunately, Lynette was told at her first appointment that her prognosis was good, and this helped her to start treatment with a positive view.”

Lynette’s treatment included chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and major surgery in May 2020. Lynette is now cancer free and enjoying spending time with her husband of 59 years, Alan, and her family.
