A lovely dip at Sandmines Urunga with my Sissy. Such a beautiful day, Sat 23rd August.

On Sunday, 17th of August, I swapped a plunge in the ocean for something a little more suburban, a hose down in the front garden.

Armed with the garden hose and an excited helper (Olive), I braced myself for the cold blast. 

I tried to keep it official by counting down from 5… but Olive couldn’t contain her excitement and let loose at 3! 

Cue squeals from myself and cackles from Olive and Mark. I’m sure the neighbours were more than a little curious.

Thank you so much to everyone who’s donated. Your generosity is appreciated, and it makes having a freezing spray with my yellow cap on totally worth it. 💛

This morning we will set off to sunny Coffs Harbour to take the plunge off the beautiful Coffs Jetty - together as Team Braxton Chicks!!! 

I couldn’t be more delighted than to do this next plunge with my incredible work wives. 

Today we are celebrating the power of Queen Jenny, who has inspired us to don our daffodil caps, tutus and hot pinky lippy, taking our Jetty Jump for Jenny to the next level…🌼❄️😂😱

So proud to be dipping, swimming, dunking and jumping in the month of August in honour of those who I love and in recognition of the beautiful, tough and tremendous battles they have fought against cancer. X

Cheered on by my little beauties, my big 9 year old Mei and I took the plunge together.  She even donned my yellow cap for a photo. 

Even though it wasn’t as cold as we imagined (a very nice 20c at Urunga enjoying the afternoon sun) 🌞 the surf was 🌊 ginormous. As it was absolutely thumping and  a little too sucky for a dive, we tightly held hands and dunked our bodies in the water a few times in between the massive sets.  Olive watched on from the sand dunes with delight. We encountered but a few passers-by on the beach that afternoon, who were interested in my fabulous Daffodil swimming cap 🌼 and to hear of our fundraising efforts as the Braxton Chicks Team! 

Today’s dip was in honour of our friend Rowena who passed away last week. RIP beautiful  Rowie. X
