Eugenie's 106 km Walk

By Eugenie Baulch

Together we are creating a cancer free future.

I’m fundraising across August for Daffodil Day, to support advancements in life-saving cancer research.

Across the month of August I'm going to walk 106 kilometres for the on average 106 Victorians who are diagnosed with cancer every day. On 2 August last year I became one of them when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My journey so far has had its twists and turns -- including having my cancer restaged at the point we thought I'd be finishing treatment -- but I am getting ever closer to being cancer free!

Twelve months on I've completed my main treatments and will continue adjuvant therapy for the next few years. As well as being fortunate to have received the most amazing medical care, I've been given incredible support along the way from my family, friends and community. Now I want to give back in some small way to benefit others affected by cancer.

As for so many of us, I have lost dear friends and loved ones to the disease and know too many people who are also travelling their own cancer journeys. Please help me in my fundraising efforts by donating and providing hope for a cancer-free future and for all those impacted by cancer.

The funds I raise will help power world-class cancer research to save lives.

Your support means so much to me!

With your help, we're getting closer to a cancer free future

Week One Done!

Friday 8th Aug
My first week of walking is complete and I've covered 29 km of the 106 km I am walking this August for the Daffodil Day Appeal. I've walked alone and with company (thank you Nicole, Kelly, Curtis, Alfie -- and Willow 🐾), soaked up sunshine as well as drizzle, admired the wattle blooming, and rewarded myself with cake!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the incredible work of the Cancer Council by donating to my page. I am very grateful :))
