Saturday 8th Aug

Rain, Hail and Sunshine’s.

8th August Okay so today the three of us decided to commit to our plans on a very questionable day of rain stormy weather and hail. I was all set to stay at home and snuggle down to a good movie however my darling sister and Sarah showed me the light to fulfil our commitment. I am so very grateful and happy that I went down to Sorrento Quay and was able to have a sauna then a couple of dips and then a sauna to warm up again. It was so much more than I expected and so much better than I thought it would be. I actually enjoyed the day. We were also greeted with a few more ladies doing exactly the same thing just previous to us so that was really cool. They were all in it for their mother who had passed away in December. So good on them for braving  the cold conditions and good on us for getting out there…… can’t wait for the next one No matter what the weather and of course still taking donations for this very worthy coursexxxx

cold dip indeed

we decided to go easy for the 1st 3 dips, I shall claim. Four of us went to the lovely Alchemy Spa in East Fremantle. They have a beautiful  aesthetics there in the basement of an old limestone building.  A beautifully placed cold plunge pool next to a very welcoming warm magnesium pool.  There were also various saunas and a steam room located nearby.  The surroundings were stunning and peaceful until the 3 of us took the 1st plunge into the cold plunge pool.  We all took a deep breathe, which was quickly taken away as we took the leap . Instantly and collectively we squealed and gasped as we realized how very cold 7 degrees was, this was followed very quickly with our profuse apologies to those few people trying to relax in the warm and now inviting magnesium pool. Those that had given us a puzzled look as they watched 3 middle aged women in bathers a yellow tutu and a yellow cap adorned with the bright yellow flowers. Which did spark a conversation of our intensions, and of cause as you know, you don't need to cast a big net to come across yet another person affected by cancer.  Elsa was happy to engage and thanked us for our efforts, as she divulged her extensive journey of pancreatic cancer and the several remissions that she had and the 3 different types of breast cancer that she has survived so far, This beautiful lady and her lovely husband were very open with their story  and I was moved to tears of course as my own sister was also sharing her experience with breast cancer and the life changes that they have all encountered as result of surviving. This of course made me stop and think, it was only a few days ago that I lost a work colleague to pancreatic cancer, it took him so quickly, that I still don't think i have processed it yet. So all of this came out of our 1st dip   Just more insight as to why we are doing this, forever hopeful that more funding can make a difference to someone's life that you and I know
