Carly's Daffodil Day Fundraiser

By Carly Duffus Join Me

Together we are creating a cancer free future.

I’m fundraising for Daffodil Day, to support advancements in life-saving cancer research.

The reality of breast cancer was still raw when I received my own diagnosis in 2020. I lost my mum to this disease just 4 years earlier. My world came crashing down, after living through mum's cancer journey and now my own, it was too much to bear.  I couldn't think straight, I developed high anxiety and was honestly scared of losing my life at 47 years old. Over the next 12 months I endured 4 surgeries, 6 months of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of intense daily radiation treatment.  Amongst many other things, I lost my hair, developed nose bleeds and stopped sleeping. I was admitted to hospital after each chemotherapy session for hydration becoming quite sick.

Although now cancer free I'm at very high risk of it returning.  We all have been affected by this horrible disease in some way.

This is where the Cancer Council comes in. They raise much needed funds for life-saving cancer research, cancer prevention and supporting people affected by cancer. They cannot do that without generous donations of people like us.

You can get involved by donating and providing hope for a cancer free future, not only for those impacted by cancer, but for all Australians.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donations so far to my Daffodil Day Appeal fundraising efforts. Your support means more to me than words can express.

Your kindness will make a significant difference to the vital work of Cancer Council, as well as the lives of Australians impacted by cancer that they work so tirelessly to support.

Thank you once again for your remarkable support. It truly warms my heart and inspires me to keep moving forward.

With sincere appreciation, thank you
