In August, I’ll be plunging into cold water for the almost 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
Please donate to my challenge!
The funds I raise from my Daffodil Day Dip challenge will help power world-class cancer research to save lives.

My Updates

Wednesday 20th Aug
Day 20/31 - Daffodil Day Dip
Day 81/100 - Winter100 Ice Bath Challenge
Time: 9:21AM | Water Temp: 7.9°C | Time: 5 min
Mood: Neon chaos
Let’s get physical. Literally.
80s leotard. Hot pink bike shorts. Lime green bumbag. Side ponytail.
Olivia Newton-John would’ve approved. Dumbbells and music video for full commitment.
Didn’t even realise until later — “Physical” dropped in 1981.
Day 81. Accidentally genius.
Production chewed up half the morning. Only had time for a quick rinse, so I froze my way through a two-hour meeting.
Iconic, idiotic, or both.
Olivia raised millions for breast cancer.
I’m just sitting in a tub of ice asking you to throw a few dollars toward cancer research.
Close enough.

Wednesday 6th Aug
Day 06/31 - Daffodil Day Dip
Day 67/100 - Winter100 Ice Bath Challenge
Time: 9:57AM | Water Temp: 9.5°C | Time: 5 min
Mood: Cowabunga chaos
Started with a mask. Side quested hard.
Two characters. One bad script. Toilet roll nunchucks.
Somewhere between the fake news report and the pizza box prop, I lost track of time, plot, and possibly my dignity.
Forgot the grater for Shredder but powered on.
Technically wore Raphael’s mask, but we all know Michaelangelo’s the vibe.
Awkward head dunk. Average turtle form. Peak Wacky Wednesday.
Some people thought I was a bit nuts for signing up for 100 days of ice baths in winter.
Today, I proved them right.
Still here. Still stacking. Still making a dick of myself.
This cold chaos is raising funds for cancer research. Laughter helps, but donations do more.

Wednesday 6th Aug
Day 05/31 - Daffodil Day Dip
Day 66/100 - Winter100 Ice Bath Challenge
Time: 9:09AM | Water Temp: 9.8°C | Time: 6 min
Mood: Stressed but recalibrated
Patched the bath. Added more ice. Yelled “do you mind?” at the birds mid-monologue — and they actually stopped.
Might be developing bird-whisperer skills.
Drive by Incubus playing. Solid nervous system reset.
I’m running late. Brain’s overloaded. Probably forgetting something important.
Today’s plan: dump the thoughts out, pick one thing, and start.
The cold helps me remember that’s enough.
Every plunge this month supports cancer research. Today, maybe start with one thing — even if it’s just sharing this.

Monday 4th Aug
Day 04/31 - Daffodil Day Dip
Day 65/100 - Winter100 Ice Bath Challenge
Time: 9:38AM | Water Temp: 8.9°C | Time: 6 min
Mood: Suspiciously optimistic
Don’t tell anyone… but I feel happy.
Not lottery-ticket happy. Just the quiet, sneaky kind that shows up when you’ve done the hard things long enough for something to shift.
House is clean. Blinds are open. I finally finished Atomic Habits after three attempts.
Maybe this is what momentum feels like.
Grateful for the Daffodil Day Dip giving this challenge extra purpose, and to State of Nirvana for kicking it all off.

Sunday 3rd Aug
Day 03/31 - Daffodil Day Dip
Day 64/100 - Winter100 Ice Bath Challenge
Time: 11:13AM | Water Temp: 8.0°C | Time: 6 min
Mood: Lazy start, clear finish
Sunny outside. Cold in the tub. Classic combo.
Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams in my ears while I dragged myself out of a guilt-ridden lazy Sunday morning.
My brain, once again, forgot how good this feels afterwards.
You’d think it would know better by Day 64.
Face dunked. Reset complete.
Still showing up. Still habit stacking.
Every plunge this month supports cancer research. If you’re not into freezing, there are warmer ways to help.

Saturday 2nd Aug
Day 02/31 - Daffodil Day Dip
Day 63/100 - Winter100 Ice Bath Challenge
Time: 9:47AM | Water Temp: 7.7°C | Time: 5 min
Mood: Stalled, then sorted
Foggy. Cold. Full of excuses.
Instead of getting in, I tackled a “very urgent” task - sorting my ice bath playlist by what’s already been used. Felt essential at the time.
Eventually got in. My Wave by Soundgarden playing. Threw in a face dunk too. Quick reset.
Still not moving well. Neck’s stiff, back’s twingy, and billing’s on the to-do list.
But I showed up. Got in. Got out.
Getting on with it.

Friday 1st Aug
Day 01/31 - Daffodil Day Dip
Day 62/100 - Winter100 Ice Bath Challenge
Time: 8:41AM | Water Temp: 7.6°C | Duration: 5 min
Mood: Quiet but grounded
Into Month 3 of the ice bath challenge
Started the 31 Days of Daffodil Day Dips in a yellow flower swim cap. Felt like a watermelon wrapped in elastic bands.
It was cold outside, which makes the plunge sting more.
Music (Rise Up - Andra Day) didn’t play, so I sat in silence and gave myself an ice cube face massage.
Swim cap kept pinching. A small but persistent reminder of why I’m doing this.

Why I’m taking the plunge (literally)
This August, I’m joining the Daffodil Day Dip - committing to 31 consecutive cold plunges to raise funds for life-saving cancer research.
To be honest, I’ve already been doing this daily since 1st June as part of a personal challenge to build better habits and resilience. But when I heard about the Daffodil Day Dip, I knew I wanted to give this effort greater purpose.
Cold water isn’t easy - especially in winter. But it’s nothing compared to the fight faced by those impacted by cancer.
If you’re able, I’d love your support. Every donation makes a difference.
💛 Thank you.
