Why I'm fundraising for Daffodil Day
This Daffodil Day is incredibly personal to me.
When I was just 22 years old, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. What followed was surgery, chemotherapy and five years of remission before finally receiving the all-clear. This year I turn 40, and I feel incredibly grateful to say I've now been cancer-free ever since.
Cancer is something that changes you forever. I've experienced first-hand the fear, uncertainty and challenges that come with a diagnosis, not only for the person going through treatment but for the family and friends standing beside them. Throughout my journey, I saw the incredible difference Cancer Council makes through life-saving research, practical support and the resources they provide to patients and their loved ones when they need it most.
Every breakthrough in cancer treatment starts with research, and every family deserves access to support during one of the hardest times in their lives. That's why I'm proud to be fundraising for Daffodil Day. If my story can help raise awareness, inspire a donation or support even one more family facing cancer, then it's something I'll always get behind.
