The funds I raise from my Daffodil Day Dip challenge, and the weeks around this day, will help power world-class cancer research to save lives.
As most of you know this cause is one close to my heart, and one that has greatly impacted my life and my family & friends, not just with my own recent diagnosis with Cancer, but with so many loved ones own experiences’.
Last year I was diagnosed with Cancer at 31. I was a new mum to two, with my 6 month old baby girl, and 2.5 year old son when all the testing started. It was very daunting going through the motions and the unknown of what was to come and how I would respond to treatment, while still trying to navigate being a new Mum of two.
I am extremely grateful to be fortunate enough to share my story, and now be able to participate in a way that raises funds for the Cancer Council, who provided so many beneficial services throughout my treatment, and ongoing now.
Unfortunately Cancer comes in all shapes and sizes, it creeps in, and affects so many people. This is for those who have just been diagnosed, are going through treatment, are in remission, or sadly lost their battle to Cancer - in particular my close friend Emma, who lost her brother & bestfriend Ben at age 23 who still had so much more love and life to show to the world, and my friends Carly & Royce who lost their Dad Terry before he had the chance to meet his beautiful Grandchildren.
